Peter Worrall, MA ACA, Chief Executive Officer

Peter joined Pharminox in November 2004, having previously been Corporate Development Director of Vernalis plc. He joined Vernalis' predecessor company, Vernalis Group plc, in 1993 as Chief Financial Officer, becoming a main board director in 1997 and acting Chief Executive in 2003, prior to the merger with Vernalis plc. During his tenure at Vernalis he was responsible for raising over £120 million in private and public equity capital, including the company's flotation on the main London Stock Exchange in May 1996, as well as the negotiation of a number of major M&A transactions and licensing deals.

Before joining Vernalis, Peter served as Finance Director of Danby Medical Ltd, a venture capital backed UK company that was acquired by Baxter Healthcare Corporation in 1993. He has 25 years experience in the life sciences industry, including seven years with the US medical devices company Imed Corporation, becoming general manager of Imed's UK subsidiary before founding his own company, Isys Medical Ltd, which he sold to Danby in 1991. He received a Masters degree in Economics from the University of St Andrews and qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co in 1980.
