PMX 610 (Dimethoxyphenyl)benzothiazoles

PMX 610 is the lead compound in our programme aimed at designing orally available analogues of Phortress with a different spectrum of anti-tumour activity. This chemistry programme has recently progressed into new chemical space, and we have made a novel series of synthetically accessible molecules with both a potent and highly unusual pattern of activity in the NCI screen, notably against lung and colon cell-lines. We have shown that these chemically distinct compounds are also mechanistically different from Phortress itself.

We are currently undertaking further work to profile the mechanism of action of this promising chemical series.

A patent application covering the PMX 610 series of compounds was filed in the US in 2004.
